yummy delicious bread.. made with the leftovers pumpkin puree..worth to try

the amount of flour and liquid called for in a recipe is  approximate, It is best to start with a smaller amount of flour and slowly add more while kneading to achieve  smooth dough


3-4 cups of flour ( i used mix of whole-wheat and all purpose flour)

1/2-3/4  cup whole milk ( warm)

1/2 cup pumpkin puree

⅓ cup light brown sugar or white or mix of both

50g butter melted

1 egg

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 1/4 teaspoon yeast

1/8 teaspoon turmeric

1 tablespoon flax-seed meal

egg wash and  pepitas ( pumpkin seeds)


 in a mixing bowl, add butter ,milk , sugar, yeast, pumpkin puree, turmeric  and combine well

attach a dough hook in the electric mixer and add in flour gradually and mix until well combined. The dough will be sticky

form the dough into a ball shape, place in a greased bowl and cover with a cloth. Let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in volume, about 1 hr

then cut the dough into about 15 pieces, roll each piece into a ball shape and let them rise again to be doubled, about 45 minutes

brush with egg wash, sprinkle the pepitas on top if you wish, and bake until the top gets slightly golden
